The Jeyasegara Family
Niels and Gayle are passionate about helping people find new life through Jesus Christ. In 2024, they sensed God’s clear call to plant a life-giving church in South Ottawa—a place where people can encounter Jesus, find authentic community, and discover their God-given purpose.
Niels served 13 years in the Canadian Armed Forces—four in the Army Reserves and nine as a pilot and staff officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He and Gayle married in 2015 and moved to Yellowknife for his first operational posting, where God stirred their passion in ministry.
After a medical change grounded Niels from flying, he began part-time pastoral ministry, serving alongside Gayle in church leadership. Gayle has faithfully led worship for over 20 years and served in women’s ministry. Together, they have also served in youth ministry. They have always carried a deep heart and commitment to building the local church.
Their most recent posting was in Winnipeg, where their daughter Grace was born. Following Niels’ medical release in 2022, they entered a season of prayer and discernment. Ottawa had long been on their hearts, and God confirmed the call to serve the city by planting a church.
The name Revive reflects both their story and their vision—to see lives restored, renewed, and brought to life in Christ. As a veteran family who has walked through seasons of transition, healing, and renewal, they long to see people in Ottawa come alive in Christ and live out the purpose God has placed in them.
